Licensing for firearm increases

The Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA) increases firearm renewal fees by approximately 66.6 per cent.

The annual licensing fee was previously JMD 12,000 will now be JMD 20,000.

New applicants will now pay $30,000 to acquire a license.

According to FLA CEO, Shane Dalling, the last increase occurred in 2014, rising from $8,000 to $12,000, a 50 per cent jump.
