Lifespan general manager elected JMEA director

Robert Scott, general manager of Lifespan Co Ltd has been elected as a director of the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA), the island’s leading industry association serving the voice of exporters, manufacturers, service providers micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Scott, prior to joining Lifespan, was managing director of Hilda Ltd., a company within the ARC group of companies.

Previous to that, he was vice president of Export and Market Development at JAMPRO, having led trade missions overseas while assisting firms on their export journey.

Being one of Jamaica’s first certified international trade professional, he has accumulated extensive experience as an international business development specialist working with multinational companies such as Mars and 3M for over 15 years.

As a consultant, Scott was the senior national trade advisor on the Ecorys/Lumin Consulting team which executed the World Bank Group-funded Jamaica Trade Information Portal back in 2018, placing all trade related information from 23 government departments on one portal.

“I look forward to serving once again in this role,” Scott said.

“The JMEA has done an amazing job and the best way that a company such as Lifespan can support its mandate is by getting involved.”

The JMEA aims to provide vital support to the industry through advocacy, strategic partnerships, export services, research, capacity building and access to finance.
