Reggae singer Lila Ike has exposed a different side to herself in her new single, Dinero, which falls more in the dancehall genre than her music usually does.

Like in much of her previous work, Ike reflects on her journey and successful career in Dinero, encouraging people to work for what they want.

In a press release, the 28-year-old said the song is a continuation of her journey, picking up from her hit song, Where I’m Coming From, released in 2019.

“I hope it encourages people to work hard for what they want, step confidently in their dreams and aspirations and enjoy the fruits of their labor. This is something I struggle with myself sometimes, but I think that mindset is important,” she said.

Dinero, Spanish for money, is produced by Grammy Award winner Sean Alaric.

In the song, released on October 13, Ike contrasts her humble beginning to that of her new success, stating that money is always on her mind.

Dinero is a fun, uplifting song with a more dancehall direction,” Lila stated.

“I want this song to mostly entertain people as I show another side of myself and my capabilities musically.”

The music video for the song has since received 150,000 views on YouTube with fans praising Ike for showing her versatility and dynamic nature.

Following her most recent tracks, including Batty Rider ShortsThy Will remix featuring Skillibeng, True Love, and Wanted, Lila is now prepping for her first full-length album.

She will also perform at the Island Wave concert in Barbados, alongside reggae artistes Protoje, Kalpee, Jaz Elise and others.
