Football legend Lionel Messi on Tuesday (June 4) launched his own sports drink, ‘Más+’, but amid the fanfare, some have observed that its design looks eerily similar to KSI and Logan Paul’s billion-dollar sports drink brand ‘Prime.’
Prime, which hit the market in 2022, quickly became a sensation due to its endorsement by the high-profile internet stars Logan Paul, KSI and later Erling Haaland.
The drink’s packaging is characterised by its bright colours, large text, and minimalist yet striking design—a formula that Más+ seems to have closely emulated.
Observers and consumers have pointed out several similarities between the two products.
Debates are raging on social media over whether Messi’s team drew inspiration from Prime’s success or if the similarity is purely coincidental.
The similarities are so prominent that it would be interesting to see how Messi’s team would deny fault. While it is doubtful Messi felt the need to target the brand maliciously, someone on Más+’s marketing team has some questions to answer.
Messi’s representatives have yet to comment on the similarity.
Logan Paul and KSI have remained silent on the matter.
