NexxStepp Lifelong Educational Services recently concluded the 11th annual Little Genius show, celebrating a decade of fostering brilliance in youth at the University of Technology in Kingston.

After a selection process involving over 300 applicants, the event, held under the theme “Building a Better Jamaica,” brought together 10 of the brightest young minds, their families, esteemed judges, and sponsors for a critical thinking, public speaking, and talent competition for primary-aged children.

In the talent segment of the competition, children showcased their skills in piano playing, singing, steel pan performances, dancing, karate demonstrations, and dub poetry.

The Little Genius Show, led by renowned social development practitioner Tishauna Mullings, is endorsed by the Governor General of Jamaica’s I Believe Initiative (IBI).

The final 10 contestants were Eliana Mayne, Israel Edwards, Naysa Ayee, Joanna Walters, Sara Copeland, Ania Ashley Anderson, Kevaun Boothe, Amir Francis, Niesha Rose, and Leanna Brown.

For the debate segment, contestants were asked to discuss pertinent issues, showcasing their critical thinking and public speaking skills.

Among the competitors, Amir Francis emerged as the 2024 Little Genius winner, with Joanna Walters and Eliana Mayne placing second and third respectively.

Francis also received special awards for Best Talent and Performance, Best Debater and Best Dressed Male. Walters secured the Best Dressed Female award and Mayne captured the Social Media Star award.
