The 2023 staging of Little Genius awards with this year’s focus being on the environment, culminated last Sunday, May 28, 2023, with the top three finalists being selected out of the 12 short-listed candidates.
Malachai Wilkins came out on top with the First Runner Up being Shaunroy Green and Second Runner Up, Kamoya Powell. The 10th Little Genius awards ceremony was held at the Edna Manley College.
The 12 finalists, ranging from 9 to 11 years old, vied for top awards as they demonstrated their outstanding critical thinking skills while debating the moot, “Be it resolved that environmental preservation should be prioritized over economic growth”.
The environment is one of the major pillars of the JPS Foundation and the organization was delighted to support the event ahead of World Environment Week, celebrated the first week in June each year.
The Little Genius Competition is produced by NexxStepp Lifelong Educational Services led by Tishauna Mullings.
