Organisers of the Little Ochie Seafood Carnival are inviting Jamaicans and patrons from across the region to dive into the celebration of all that the idyllic fishing village of Alligator Pond has to offer.

One of the most anticipated summer events of the year, the Little Ochie Seafood Carnival will return on Sunday, July 13, 2025, with a vibrant, all-day celebration of Jamaican seafood, culture, and community. Beginning at 10:00 am and running until midnight, the event will be an extravaganza of tasty and satisfying seafood, pulsating music, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

“This year’s seafood carnival is all about celebrating the ocean’s bounty and the joy of seafood!” said Ika Christian, manager of Little Ochie and daughter of founder Evrol “Blackie” Christian.

“We’ll have a variety of delicious seafood dishes, refreshing ocean-inspired drinks, and fun and activities for the whole family to enjoy. We’re incorporating a unique blend of local seafood, international flavours, and live music inspired by the beautiful island nation of Jamaica,” she added.

During the day, guests can enjoy seafood cook-offs, boat races, dancing contests, and even an eating competition. When the sun sets, the tempo rises with live performances from guest artistes, including Agent Sasco and Jamal, turning the event into a night-long party under the stars.

Agent Sasco is billed to perform at Little Ochie Seafood Carnival 2025 on Sunday, July 13.

With various styles of preparing meals – grilled, steamed, fried and barbecued – the Little Ochie Seafood Carnival offers seafood lovers a curated culinary and cultural experience. One of the highlights of the event is the carnival’s signature dish: jerk fish prepared with aromatic spices and slow-cooked to perfection.

“Visitors can expect a wide variety of jerk fish preparations, paired with delicious sides and sauces… It’s a Caribbean classic that’s sure to tantalise your taste buds,” Christian said.

Adding to the creative fusion of flavours, music and family-friendly activities, this year’s staging will highlight sustainable practices that contribute to the longevity of the Little Ochie experience.

“We’re also introducing new elements like a seafood-cooking competition, interactive ocean-themed games for kids, and an increased focus on sustainability with eco-friendly seafood options and reduced waste,” Christian revealed.

Among the special guests will be the “King of Seafood” himself—Evrol Blackie Christian, who will bring his renowned flair to the festivities.

Deeply rooted in Jamaican tradition, the Little Ochie Seafood Carnival is also a celebration of the legacy of Alligator Pond and the nation’s fishing village heritage.

Beyond the festivities, the carnival also plays a crucial role in supporting the local economy by generating income for vendors, chefs, and artisans.

Christian added that the “influx of visitors also boosts businesses in nearby hotels, restaurants, and shops.” In fact, she touted the carnival as having “something for everyone”, from die-hard foodies, cultural enthusiasts, or a family seeking a fun day out.

“Our event is designed for a wide range of audiences—locals, tourists, young and old,” Christian emphasised.
