Liverpool had to come from a goal behind to beat Brighton earlier today (Matrch 31).

Jurgen Klopp is chasing a treble and is still in target to achieve just that.

Brighton, managed by Roberto De Zerbi, is a tough outfit to get past and so it proved for Liverpool today.

Ex-Manchester United player Danny Welbeck put the Seagulls into the lead in just the second minute of the game which stunned Klopp and company.

Could Brighton stage an upset and wreck Livderpool’s plans to be top of the English Premier League (EPL) during the Easter period?

Just before halftime, the Reds of Merseyside hit back with a Luis Diaz goal. It was all to play for.

Mo Salah, the Egyptian striker, got the winner, making this Klopp’s 300th win for Liverpool.

With both Arsenal and Manchester City dropping points in their 0-0 encounter, Liverpool ha s a little breathing room at the top. It is still a three-horse race to the EPL trophy.

In his post-match interview, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said: “From my point of view this was our best performance against Roberto’s Brighton. We had more possession, better possession. I liked our reaction but we were rushed in our finishing. We scored a wonderful first goal and a wonderful second goal.

“I thought the boys were really calm today. We deserved to win the game. We had a good afternoon. “
