Living the Fabulous Life with Chy: Solo date

Greetings Chy Hive,

Guess who went on a date by herself? That’s right, your home girl went out alone and
it was the most freeing feeling I’ve ever had.

I went to the Regency Restaurant at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel for dinner on Saturday (May 29).

In the past, I would rarely think of going out anywhere alone and, when I did, it was the loneliest
experience ever.

So, I decided to challenge myself to enjoy my own company.

On approaching the steps of Regency Restaurant, I realised their COVID-19 safety protocols were on point.

Masks were on, sanitiser was available and tables were actually six feet apart, which made the idea of a solo
date a little more relaxing for me.

Call it confidence or humbly acknowledging my worth, but your girl was really out here dining
in peace and knee-deep in self-love.

Stepping into the restaurant, I was hit by the faint scent of toasted bread, with melodic romantic music.
I fell in-love with myself all over again.

I was placed at a table for two and guess who was my date?

Ha, ha, my Coach purse!

For the appetiser, I had the Blue Mountain Garden Salad paired with a virgin Hamden Spice.

Yes, I devoured the leafy greens which were fresh, delicious and healthy.

By this time, I had already started observing the quality service of the restaurant and how attentive and prompt
the waiters were, despite a filled room.

I neither had to wait long for my appetiser, nor my main course.

My personal waiter, Lamar Wisdom, was nothing short of courteous.

I’m sure Chy Hive, ya’ll have thought about what it would be like feeling like a princess; well,
being tended to the way I was, I did indeed feel like a princess.

For my main meal I had the Regency fillet mignon (medium rare-mostly on the rare side) topped
with sautéed mushrooms and béarnaise sauce, paired with herbed mashed potatoes and herbed
broccoli.

The steak was tender and savoury…. ooooh, I want another one!

My entrée, to my taste buds, was perfection, especially with a glass of red wine to go along with the meal.

Unfortunately, my tiny stomach couldn’t hold any more food, so no desert for me. I was already filled
half-way into the meal.

My point though, Chy Hive is, take the time out to treat yourself.

Time spent alone helped me personally to identify what I liked and how I felt and solo dates are a
def must do again!

I’m absolutely fabulous (flips hair)
‘Be highly humble, yet highly aware of your worth.
