American R&B singer Lizzo makes her long-awaited return to music this week and is tapping rapper Cardi B on the single Rumors, which is set for a Friday (August 13) release.

The single, Lizzo’s first lead effort since 2019’s hugely successful Cuz I Love You album, was teased by Cardi B on her verified social media pages. 

“All the rumors are truuuuue – me n my sis Lizzo dropping this Friday get ready,” she said on Facebook. 

Both Cardi B and Lizzo are pictured in a close-up in the teaser, as the musicians flip birds to the camera.

Cardi B, now on her second child with husband Offset, isn’t letting pregnancy derail her upward music trajectory, with Rumors being her second feature since Normani’s Wild Side track in mid-July. 

Lizzo, whose 2017 hit Truth Hurts shot her into stardom, garnered eight Grammy nominations and copped three Gramophones during the 62nd staging in Los Angeles, California last year.
