Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie has condemned the killing of Ainsley Parkins, the late councillor for the Southboro Division in East Central St Catherine on Thursday morning.
McKenzie, in a statement on Thursday, said that he is deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Parkins, who represented the People’s National Party.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Councillor Ainsley Parkins. His service to the community will be remembered, and his contributions to the betterment of Southboro Division are recognised and appreciated,” he said.

He has urged law enforcement officers to use all their resources to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Parkins was reportedly attacked by criminals while assessing a project behind the Naggo Head Infant School in Portmore.
The police are to establish a motive for the killing of the politician.
