Are you interested in Asian culture and want to try their cuisine? It isn’t hard to find a Japanese restaurant or a Chinese restaurant.

However, it’s difficult to find a Korean restaurant in Jamaica.

Fear not!

If you really want to try Korean food, you can attend a cooking class by the International Youth Fellowship (IYF), at 63b Deanery Road, Kingston 3.

The IYF is a Christian-based global youth initiative with the mission of developing youth in every country where they are located. The fellowship in Jamaica hosts various events, exploring and sharing Korean culture.

The IYF Korean cooking class was hosted in May. The spicy stir-fried chicken cooking class provided all the ingredients and a mini-Korean lesson to get you on your way to cooking Korean. The step-by-step demonstration was first class.

If you are looking for another opportunity to eat Korean, the IYF is throwing an event called Taste of Korea in Kingston. It will be hosted at the IYF Kingston centre on June 14.
