Lucky GKMS/Western Union customer runs into Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce when collecting reward

When Keithi Cunningham of Kingston saw two missed calls from GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS) Western Union Customer Support Centre, he was worried.
On returning the call, Cunningham’s worry soon turned to surprise, and then disbelief, when he was told he was one of the winners of $100,000 in the ongoing 10 Million Reasons to Receive GKMS/WU promotion.
“I remembered seeing the promotion when I went into the location to pick up some money my brother sent from overseas,” Cunningham recounted.
As if winning $100,000 wasn’t good fortune enough, Cunningham also got the opportunity to meet one of the greatest female athletes of all time – sprint icon, multi-Olympic and World Championships gold medalist and GK ambassador, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce – when he went to collect his winnings. The chance encounter took place on his arrival at the GK ONE Digital Store on Port Royal Street on November 2, where he went to collect the GK ONE prepaid Visa debit card (dubbed the ‘Shelly card’) on which his prize money had been placed.
“Is jus a whim mek me come down here today yuh nuh, and look who me run into? The great Shelly,” he said with a laugh.
“This is so awesome! Just like that, you won $100,000! I’m so happy for you. I’m sure this came at the best time for you!”

Cunningham also met Senator Don Wehby, GraceKennedy group CEO; Steven Whittingham, GraceKennedy Financial Group deputy CEO; and GKMS Chief Operating Officer Margaret Campbell, who were showing Fraser-Pryce the GK ONE Digital Store, a cashless location that offers banking, bill payment, cambio, insurance and remittance services.
The 10 Million Reasons to Receive promotion, which started in September and ends December 31, will see 100 GKMS/WU customers winning $100,000 each. The money is being disbursed through the recently launched GK ONE Mobile App and Prepaid Visa card. To date, 30 winners have been selected.
Cunningham shared: “Ah now I will never stop use Western Union. Me win bout three time today alone!”
