Croatian football legend Luka Modric will continue his career with AC Milan after signing a one year contract extension, keeping him at the club until he turns 41.

 The midfielder joined Milan last summer after leaving Real Madrid, where he spent 13 years and won six Champions League titles and four La Liga trophies.

Modric scored twice in 37 appearances during his first season in Italy as Milan finished fifth in Serie A. The veteran also recently featured in his fifth World Cup, with Croatia exiting in the last 32 against Portugal.

The former Ballon d’Or winner, who has captained Croatia since 2016, has helped guide his country to a World Cup final and a third-place finish. He will now continue working under former Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim as Milan look ahead to the new season.
