Funeral arrangements for late Jamaican footballer Luton Shelton are almost complete as the 35-year-old will be laid to rest next Thursday, February 25.

While the internment has not been disclosed, Shelton’s family is also allowing for his body to be viewed in-state on Wednesday, February 24 between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

The viewing will take place at the House of Tranquillity Funeral Home along Orange Street in downtown Kingston. Shelton’s family further noted that the event will adhere to the coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention protocols, and as such, only 10 persons will be allowed at any given time.

Luton Shelton, the most-prolific goalscorer on the Jamaica senior men’s national squad, died on Friday, January 22.

Shelton, who had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), back in 2018, was undergoing treatment for the condition with assistance from the government.
