Partnering with MoneyGram on the endeavour

Lynk, Jamaica’s first digital wallet powered by the National Commercial Bank, will officially launch its remittance service tomorrow (March 10).
The fintech company will host a campaign launch inside Nelson Mandela Park, running from 6:00 am to 10:00 am, to showcase how it will enable fast, convenient and safe cross-border transfers via MoneyGram.
In a statement, Lynk said that, as it prepares to change the remittance business with its newest feature, ‘Di Money App’, the fintech is planning to take over the Half-Way Tree area on the day with giveaways, music and entertainment for the public.

“Users can get a hands-on demonstration of the remittance feature and learn more about Lynk,” the company said.
Lynk’s business customers will also be on show in the ‘Lynk Merchant Village’. The Porridge Shoppe, Carlos Nuts and More, and FirstCare Medical Plan are among the businesses, which will be out with Lynk deals and giveaways.
Traditionally sent by wire transfer, electronic payment system, mail, draft, or cheque, remittances remain a major source of income for many Jamaican households. Lynk’s introduction as a digital primary agent is expected to open a world of possibilities and alleviate major pain points for persons locally.
