Jamaican olympian Asafa Powell and his wife Alyshia Miller Powell are today (February 16) celebrating their third wedding anniversary.

As their love story continues to unfold, it is clear that the two have come a far way since their initial meeting in 2012.

In what some would call love at first sight, Asafa unexpectedly fell into Alyshia’s orbit when the latter accompanied her friend to a Canada-based track meet at which the sprinter was participating.

Clearly catching Asafa’s eyes, the Jamaican athlete reached out to Alyshia via Instagram in 2015, after which a friendship bloomed and love later sparked.

Following their 2018 engagement, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony on February 16, 2019, in the presence of close friends and family members.

In celebration of their wedding anniversary, the pair both took to Instagram in recognition of the special day.

Asafa shared a photo from their wedding day with the caption, “Happy anniversary to me and my bestie @millerpowell_alyshia” and Alyshia shared a video compilation of a few of their couple photos, captioning the video, “Happy anniversary to us @asafasub10king. May God continue to bless us and our union. I would chose you over and over *heart emoji*.”
