Madonna bedridden in intensive care after bacterial infection

A severe bacterial infection saw pop star Madonna rushed to a New York hospital where she has remained for days, it has been revealed.

Her daughter Lourdes Leon has stayed by her side and Madonna is said to be awake and responsive.

She is expected to make a full recovery.

Madonna is known to take her health seriously, excersising and eating a balanced diet. He fitness level is remarkable for a 64 year-old woman.

Her manager Guy Oseary wrote: “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. She will have to pause all commitments including her upcoming ‘Celebration’ tour.”

Madonna has been a pop star for 40 years selling over 400 million singles and albums. She is the first woman to earn Billboard 200 Top 10 albums each decade since the 80’s.

“The Material Girl” is estimated to have a US$900 million fortune. Her songs have been remixed and sampled more than 324 times.
