It is no laughing matter for American comedic act Majah Hype, who has found himself arrested and charged by officers of Cobb County in Georgia.
According to records obtained by Our Today, Majah, born Joseph Nigel Theron, was arrested around 9:39 pm Thursday (January 28) on two felony counts of kidnapping as well as terroristic threats and acts. He was also charged with simple battery, a misdemeanour offence.
The 42-year-old New York native had his bond set at US$15,000 and was being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center in Canton, Georgia.
Theron has since posted bail and was released at 1:24 am on Friday.

Majah Hype was most recently embroiled in controversy in December 2020, when his estranged wife, Latisha Kirby, accused him of abuse and manipulation.
In the aftermath, though he denied her claims, the popular social media comic, most famous for Caribbean-flavoured sketches, came in for heavy criticism from fans and lost many supporters on his platforms.
Kirby also accused the self-proclaimed ‘Caribbean king of comedy’ of leaking intimate videos of her, after Theron allegedly seized her smartphone in an altercation.
