Major firearms and ammunition seizure in Kingston

Lawmen assigned to the St Andrew Central Policing Division seized a semi-automatic pistol along with several homemade firearms and an assortment of ammunition during an operation on McIntosh Drive, Tope Range, Kingston 3, on Thursday, February 26.

Reports from the Half-Way Tree Police are that between the hours of 4:00 am and 11:00 am, police personnel on operation observed a shopping bag between a tree trunk while searching a premises in the area.

The bag was inspected and revealed one Colt semi-automatic pistol with a magazine affixed containing two .45 cartridges.

A further search was conducted with members of the Canine Division, which yielded four homemade firearms, forty-one 12-gauge cartridges, nine 9mm cartridges, one .40 cartridge, and one .22 mm cartridge.

No arrest was made in relation to the seizure.

The investigation is ongoing.
