In the modern financial ecosystem, fraud prevention is one of the most challenging aspects, with fraud being an ongoing threat to all organizations.
It causes an organization serious financial losses, reputational damage, and loss of stakeholder confidence.
While it can be difficult to keep up with fraudsters as they are constantly changing their techniques, we must remain vigilant in our efforts to combat fraud.
The Jamaica Bankers’ Association (JBA) Anti-fraud Committee in partnership with the Jamaica Institute of Financial Services (JIFS) will be hosting its Annual Anti-Fraud Seminar under the theme “Combatting Fraud: Remaining Vigilant”.
At this seminar, participants will learn how to protect their organizations from the fraudemic that has been trending.
Major Antony Anderson, Commissioner of Police, will give the keynote address.

Topics to be addressed include Current fraud Trends; “The Psychology of a Fraudster/The Fraud Triangle” Combatting Financial Crime: Relying on Technology vs Stakeholder Engagement; Heightened Regulatory Scrutiny and Leveraging AI in Fighting Fraud.
Participants are expected to include Anti-fraud Practitioners in Financial Institutions from the areas of Commercial/Retail Banking, Security, Internal Audit, Information Technology, Security Companies as well as Law Enforcement. Complimentary attendance will be provided for some officers from the Counterterrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Unit (C-TOC) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
