Lawmen assigned to the Marine Division seized narcotics and associated contraband during an operation conducted in the coastal community of Hellshire on Monday, March 23.
The team, acting on operational intelligence, carried out a targeted search which resulted in the discovery of approximately seventy (70) knitted bags containing compressed ganja.
Each bag is estimated to weigh between 30 and 50 pounds, representing a substantial quantity of the illicit substance.
In addition to the ganja, the team also seized approximately 800 litres of mixed gasoline, along with several bags containing clothing and food items. The items are believed to be linked to organised illegal activities being conducted along the coastline.
No arrests have been made at this time; however, investigations are ongoing as the police intensify efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for the contraband.
This significant find highlights the continued vigilance, strategic operations, and maritime enforcement capabilities of the Marine Division.
The seizure represents a major disruption to illegal trafficking activities and reinforces the JCF’s commitment to securing Jamaica’s coastal borders.
