Donald Trump did say he would not be taking it easy on Kamala Harris’ presidential aspirations and that she would face the full fury of his attacks.

Since it was announced that she would be the Democratic Party’s nominee she has received support and the wind seems to be in her sails.

Now news comes that the husband of Kamala Harris, “First Husband” Doug Emhoff cheated on his first wife with his daughter’s nanny Najen Naylor, getting her pregnant.

This campaign will get nasty and Trump’s camp will be looking for all skeletons in Kamala Harris’ closet.

It was thought that Harris’ squeaky clean persona would be an asset against Trump’s colourful past, particularly with women. His infamous “ Grab them by the p….” line would have undone many candidates for the presidency but it didn’t seem to have derailed his campaign. Women seemingly let it pass and voted for him.

Already people are taking a look at Harris’ love life, her choice not to have children and her relationship with former top Californian politician Willie Brown, who was 30 years her senior.

Trump will take advantage of this news about Kamala Harris’ husband, lawyer Doug Emhoff, who had a reputation as an innocuous cuddly teddy bear and a dutiful husband. There was no dirt on him.

It has been reported that his affair with Najen Naylor was the reason why his first marriage to Kerstin ended. They were married for 16 years and had two children, Ella and Cole. 

Doug and Kersten Emhoff were divorced in 2010.

Their daughter Ella was 10 at the time it was said her father was having sexual relations with the nanny.

The nanny Najen Naylor also worked at the private school attended by the Emhoff children.

When confronted with this revelation, Naylor neither confirmed nor denied it.

It is yet to come to light whether she kept Emhoff’s alleged baby.

This may very well play out in the contentious debate around abortion in America and the Democratic nominee’s own husband could be cited as a very embarrassing case study.

Why do some Hollywood stars and big shots sexually pursue the nanny? It is most unbecoming. I wonder what Joy Reid will make of this? 

Some sources claim that Emhoff came to an accommodation with Naylor, with her quietly going away with a financial settlement in her purse.

Harris and Emhoff got married in 2014 and she is a stepmom to his children.

The Democrats were keen to attack Trump’s peccadilloes but may have to come to terms with their very own. The Stormy Daniels situation was going to be used to paint Donald Trump as a degenerate, a man of low character with “ the morals of an alley cat”.

The Harris campaign team will have to address this Emhoff situation and fast. With less than 100 days to the presidential election, there is little time to put out fires.

Trump will be merciless and so too will be the YouTube commentators like Candace Owens, Anton Daniels and Oshay Duke Jackson.

This situation with Kamala Harris’ husband will be fodder for those who will point the finger at the Democrats’ sordid slip-ups and allow Trump to take the holier-than-thou card from his adversaries.

There have been presidential aspirants who have been downed by sexual adventures with women other than their wives. Gary Hart, John Edwards, Anthony Weiner, Bill Clinton, Elliot Spitzer, Andrew Cuomo.

Now Doug Emhoff will undergo intense scrutiny. All will be done by the Democrats to prevent him from making that walk of shame.

This will come up in interviews with Kamala Harris. Already she has avoided coming before the media and is being protected from making any slip-ups. She is awkward in one-on-one sit-downs. She cannot hide for much longer.

If this is true about her husband, it makes it tougher for her. The question is will it slow her momentum?
