Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce hosted her annual Easter treat in Waterhouse, St Andrew, through her SFP Pocket Rocket Foundation, marking the organisation’s first social outreach initiative for 2024.
The foundation distributed over J$500,000 worth of Easter bun and cheese.
“Waterhouse has my heart and community outreach has always been a big part of our foundation’s mission so I am excited to, once again, be able to give back to my community,” Fraser-Pryce said.
This year’s Easter treat marked a significant expansion from previous years typically catered to approximately 100 individuals. Fraser-Pryce noted the event’s growth, stating: “It’s incredible to see how much we’ve grown in just a few years. Last year, we celebrated our 10-year milestone with a Fundraising Gala and thanks to the generosity of our donors, we’ve been able to increase our reach and touch the lives of even more people in our community.”

The event had an informal, warm atmosphere with Fraser-Pryce extending a personal invitation to community members to visit her grandmother’s home on Ashoka Road to collect their Easter treats.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Fraser-Pryce noted the importance of community support, “None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our donors and volunteers. Their contributions have enabled us to make a real difference in the lives of those in need, and I am truly grateful for their ongoing support.”
As the SFP Pocket Rocket Foundation continues its mission of community development, events like the Easter Treat serve as a reminder of the power of unity and compassion in creating positive change.
