Twenty-three-year-old Tremaine Harris, the man accused of murdering 47-year-old Corporal Christopher Smith during a robbery at a gas station on East Avenue, St Andrew on Friday, December 6, has been charged over another robbery incident in the parish.
New charges of robbery with aggravation, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition were laid against him on the eve of the New Year following information that linked him to an October 12, 2024 incident on Clieveden Avenue, Kingston 6.
According to detectives, it is alleged that Harris was one of six persons who allegedly held up two persons and robbed them of approximately J$2,000,000 at an apartment building.
Along with the cash, Harris and his accomplices allegedly also robbed the complainants of a licensed firearm, a watch, bank cards and identification cards.
A court date of Tuesday, January 14 has been set for him to answer to the new charges.
The previous case against him, in which he was charged with murder, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition and six counts of robbery with aggravation, continues in court.
