Rushawn Patterson, the man who is accused of the murder of social media influencer Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend, was fatally injured during a shootout with the police in Hanover Tuesday morning.

Patterson was arrested on November 2, 2022, by the Hanover police during a high-level operation after Townsend’s body was retrieved from the sea by the Marine Police.

Her body was seen floating in the Reading area of St James, on Friday, October 21, 2022.

The autopsy revealed that Townsend died of strangulation sometime between 11 pm on Thursday, October 20, and 9 am on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Patterson was charged with the murder on November 11, 2022.

Police reported that Townsend travelled from Kingston to Montego Bay, where she was picked up by Patterson. They then visited a restaurant in Hanover and then a guest room in St James. An argument reportedly developed between the two, which led to Townsend’s strangulation and the disposal of her body.

Townsend’s accused killer was subsequently granted bail for medical reasons.
