Man arrested and charged after breaching firearms act

A construction worker has been arrested and charged with unauthorised possession of a prohibited weapon and assault at common law following an incident on Main Street in Priory, St Ann, on Saturday, October 4.

Charged is 32-year-old Richard Levy, otherwise called ‘Sleepy’ of Main Street in Priory, St Ann.

Reports from the St Ann’s Bay Police state that at about 6:40 pm, Levy was at a bar when an argument developed between him and the complainant.

During the argument, Levy ran out of the bar and returned shortly after with a firearm. He then pointed it at the complainant. The matter was reported to the police, and Levy was later apprehended. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

His court date is being finalised.
