Twenty-nine-year-old Daniele Powell has been charged with murder following the shooting of one of his relatives during a dispute.

Powell of Old Hope Road, Kingston 6, has been accused of killing 44-year-old Peter Lyndsay, otherwise called ‘Gregory’, of Standpipe district, Kingston 6, on July 15.

The Half-Way Tree police say both men had been in a long-standing feud, and when an argument ensued between them, Powell reportedly retrieved a firearm and opened fire at Lyndsay.

Lyndsay was seen nursing gunshot wounds after the shooting subsided. He was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On Tuesday, August 19, Powell turned himself in to the police in the company of his attorney and was subsequently charged.

His court date is being finalised.
