Twenty-three-year-old Taje Squire is facing several charges for the murder of 16-year-old Bianca Thompson at her home on Albion Avenue on February 24.
He has been charged with shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and making use of firearm to commit a felony.
According to preliminary reports from the Denham Town Police, residents alerted the authorities after hearing explosions at about 11:22 pm.
The lawmen responded and found Thompson, otherwise called ‘Abby’, lying in a bedroom of her house with several gunshot wounds. She was assisted to the hospital, however, the teen was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police on operation subsequently apprehended Squire on February 27. He was later charged on March 6 after a question-and-answer interview.
His court date is being arranged.
