A man has been charged in Singapore after lunging at Ariana Grande during the premiere of Wicked: For Good on Thursday night (November 13), an incident that disrupted the red carpet event.

Video footage captured Johnson Wen vaulting over a barricade at Universal Studios Singapore before rushing toward Grande. Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly stepped in to shield a visibly shaken Ariana, repeatedly shouting, “Get off of her!”, as Wen was promptly escorted away.

Reports indicate that Wen, 26, an Australian national, plans to plead guilty and could face a fine of up to S$2,000 (£1,168). With security at high-profile events tighter than ever, red carpet interruptions like this have become increasingly rare.
