Arsenal under its young manager Mikel Arteta continue to drink from the cup of woe, comprehensively beaten this morning by last year’s EPL champions Manchester City, 5-0.

Having spent over 130 million pounds on new signings for this season, Arsenal are now rooted on the bottom of the table.

Ilkay Gundogan opened the scoring after just seven minutes.

Torres followed up in the 12th minutes with Jesus scoring just before half time.

Granit Xhaka was sent off in the first half.

Rodri continue to add to Arsenal’s pain scoring for City in the 53rd minute  with Torres getting his second in the 84th minute.

Arsenal strikers Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were very quiet and ineffective.

They were pussycats with no swagger.

Arsenal played with a very defensive formation with a back four. It was a very meek performance by the entire team.

Pep Guardiola’s  Manchester City had a whopping 81 per cent possession at the Etihad Stadium.

It’s the first time Arsenal has lost the first three games of the season in 67 years.

It was confirmed this week that top world strikers Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane will not be joining Manchester City.

But judging by today’s performance, do they really need that firepower?

Manchester City will still be favourites to retain the title.
