Opens New Store in Drax Hall, St Ann

Multi-service giant, Manpower & Maintenance Services Limited Group (MMS) continues in expansion mode with the opening of The Clean Store, located at the Knutsford Express Business Centre in Drax Hall, St Ann.
One year in the making, The Clean Store, which comes under the umbrella of the Sales & Distribution Division that opened its doors at Collins Green Avenue in Kingston last year, is a fulfillment of the promise made then, according to Chairman & CEO of MMS Audrey Hinchcliffe, “to take our sales and distribution business to other areas of Jamaica”.
In her address to the gathering at Drax Hall, Hinchcliffe said the store opening is “an important aspect of our vision to encourage the sustained growth of the MMS organisation, and for making strategic and revolutionary changes to the cleaning industry in Jamaica”.
ONE-STOP SHOP
She said that, “over the past two and a half years, the world has had to sit up, take notice, and pay serious attention to public health, as it sought new approaches to the challenges posed by COVID-19″.
She added: “Governments and people everywhere have had to re-examine what it means to change the way we live in an effort to create and maintain a really clean and hygienic environment. Through this most unusual and very challenging time, we came to realise that it is not only important to clean, but to know how to clean, how often; what products to use and the possible effects. It is true to say that our generation has never seen greater emphasis placed on cleaning and sanitisation. Our experience has given new meaning to the age old saying, ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’.”
Hinchcliffe told the audience that “the concept of having a facility like The Clean Store in Jamaica, that is 100 per cent dedicated to providing the products, tools, and equipment for cleaning and sanitisation, is indeed revolutionary,” since traditionally “cleaning and sanitisation supplies have occupied only a few shelves or at most, a corner or designated area in supermarkets and other retail and wholesale facilities. The advent of The Clean Store, however, changes all that. The Clean Store is dedicated entirely to providing products and supplies for cleaning and sanitisation in a centralised location. It is virtually a one-stop-shop for whatever the consumer may need. It also provides gardening and other related implements, as well as personal protective equipment.”
She further explained that the launch event “represents not just the opening of another store … but a shift in perspective on the significance of cleaning and sanitisation and their importance in the collective push for lifestyle adjustments that bring individual as well as communal benefits”.

The CEO said The Clean Store is also focused on “expanding the product knowledge of our customers so that they can make the right choices. As you all know, an educated consumer is always the best consumer”.
“These are challenging times and effectively solving the problems of our age, calls for transformational thinking and innovation. While The Clean Store is Manpower’s move to establish a full sales and distribution operation… it is also a response to the needs of consumers by literally putting the supplies that we use in the facilities maintenance arm of our business, into their hands,” Hinchcliffe said.
Those who wish to gain access to the products outside of Kingston and Drax Hall, will also find them at the MMS branches in Montego Bay and Mandeville, as these branches are also being transformed into retail and distribution outlets.
Also speaking at the opening of The Clean Store were Marsha Smith, member of parliament for St Ann North Eastern, Custos Rotulorum of St Ann Norma Walters, councillor for the Lime Hall Division, St Ann North Eastern Genevor Gordon-Bailey and President of the St Ann Chamber of Commerce Dr Ransford Davidson.
