Former Jamaica and West Indies cricketer Marlon Samuels has become a real estate investor in Guyana, joining the TAJ DIAMOND luxury development located along the East Bank Demerara corridor between Diamond and Buzz Bee Dam in Guyana.
Samuels joined as a resident and investor, TAJ Diamond said in a press release. He has secured seven homes within the upscale development, one of which is his personal residence, and the six others are part of a broader rental investment strategy.
TAJ DIAMOND is a newly unveiled planned community located along the East Bank Corridor between Diamond and Buzz Bee Dam. The project is being positioned as a modern, luxury-driven real estate initiative that redefines urban development in Guyana.
Growing investor confidence in Guyana

Samuels’ multi-home purchase signals growing investor confidence in the country’s booming real estate sector.
“I’ve travelled the world thanks to cricket, and I can say with confidence that Guyana is poised for something big,” Samuels explained.
Continuing, the middle-order batsman said, “After decades of playing cricket, my favourite hotel in the world is the Taj Mahal in India. So, after learning about the TAJ DIAMOND project, I truly believe it showcases Guyana’s beauty and excellence. I’ve been coming to Guyana for a long time, and truly, I can say that there’s no project like this one. As I like to say, it’s iconic.”
Unit prices

The TAJ DIAMOND project was launched publicly on July 1 with an initial early bird price of US$250,000 per home. With land clearing and mobilisation already completed, infrastructure and vertical construction are set to begin soon.
Prices have since increased to US$300,000 due to robust demand, and over 10% of the units have already been reserved. The first set of homes is expected to be delivered in the final quarter of 2025.
Amenities detailed
The community will include 249 three-story luxury homes, each featuring private two-car garages. Additional amenities will include gated access with 24/7 armed security, a clubhouse, resort-style pool, cinema, fitness centre, and a 40,000-square-foot retail and dining area anchored by Morton’s The Steakhouse and other premium brands.
TAJ DIAMOND also offers buyers an optional fixed 14 per cent yield leaseback programme, with full-service property management for passive income.

Nicola Mola, lead developer for the Guyana project, is pleased that Samuels has chosen TAJ DIAMOND as both a resident and investor.
For her, “his involvement adds energy, visibility, and validation to what’s quickly becoming one of Guyana’s most transformative communities. Stay tuned, more exciting announcements are on the way.”
The development is being led by US-based firm Coastal Rim Properties, which brings over five decades of global real estate experience to the local market. Business development support is being provided by the ACE Consulting Group.
