The police are expected to shortly arrest the man seen on social media in a pink mask issuing death threats to the prime minister and his wife and promising further mass shootings in Clarendon.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey told journalists at a press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister on Wednesday that the man had been identified.

Bailey said the man has been on police radar before and an “advanced investigation” is underway to take him into custody.

A TikTok video clip showed the masked man hurling threats and insults at Prime Minister Andrew Holness, saying he and his wife Juliet were “next”, while also promising that more mass killings would take place in Clarendon by next week.

His username @akeemblake79 was visible during the video which is now deleted from the social media platform.

This is the second press conference after a mass shooting on Sunday night (August 11) that claimed the lives of eight residents — including a seven-year-old boy — and left nine others injured at Cherry Tree Lane, Four Paths, Clarendon.
