Airline team working to ensure any impact is minimal

American airline carrier, American Airlines has announced the cancellation of more than 800 flights in the month of March at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

In an advisory, the airline disclosed that it has recently adjusted its March 2022 schedule at the airport, which has resulted in a reduction in the total monthly departures by 835 flights or about 27 flights per day. American Airlines officials report that teams have been assembled and are now working hard to ensure any impacts are minimal.

In addition American Airlines has proactively been contacting affected customers to provide alternate travel options that most closely align with their original travel itinerary.

CUSTOMERS WILL STILL BE ABLE TO REACH DESTINATIONS

“We thank our customers for their understanding and apologise for the inconvenience,” an American Airlines representative said.

From Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, American Airlines is currently scheduled to operate 18,340 total flights in March, or approximately 592 daily departures, after schedule adjustments.

Based on the adjusted March schedule, the total number of flights out of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is approximately 89 per cent of the schedule operated in 2019.

Officials say all customers will still be able to reach their desired destinations. If a new itinerary doesn’t meet a customer’s needs, they are able to seek a full refund under the airline’s standard schedule change policy.
