Massy Distribution Limited supported the Eternal Father Awards, an esteemed event recognising exemplary Jamaican fathers on Sunday (June 16).

The annual event was held on Father’s Day at the AC Mariott Hotel in New Kingston, the ceremony celebrated fathers whose dedication enriches societal development.

The Eternal Father Awards, now in its third year, distinguishes fathers across eight categories, encompassing community leadership, mentorship, and more.

The Eternal Father Awards 2024 was presented by the National Parenting Support Commission, in partnership with Redstripe, Audi Jamaica, Premiere Studios, Brut Jamaica, Totally Male Spa and Massy Distributions.

This year, a new category, the Eternal Father Honourary Award, sponsored by Massy Distribution, spotlighted fathers excelling despite challenges.

AVP and Head of Human Resources at Massy, Mervelyn Doughorty, affirmed their alignment with the Awards’ values, stating, “At Massy Distribution, we recognize fathers as pivotal in nurturing family well-being and child development. The Awards commend fathers often overlooked for their essential role.”

The Awards encourage community nominations, reflecting a shared appreciation for outstanding fathers. Doughorty disclosed Massy’s nomination of Dave Morgan, father to their brand ambassador Kingsley Morgan, citing Dave’s exemplary fatherhood and influence on his sons’ lives.

“Dedicated father to Kimani, Kingsley, and Keneil,” said Doughorty, “Dave Morgan embodies the resilience and unwavering support.” Dave’s commitment transcends stereotypes, deeply engaging in his sons’ lives, from academic involvement to shared interests like wrestling.

Dave Morgan’s nomination sheds light on Massy Distribution’s broader commitment to fatherhood. Notably, they pioneered a Paternity Leave Policy, granting 25 paid days to affirm fathers’ societal role.

According to representatives at Massy, he defies stereotypes by actively engaging in his sons’ lives, attending Parent Teacher Meetings, and participating in shared activities. His sons cherish cherished memories, recalling his leadership, resilience, provision, and unfaltering support, embodying the essence of a devoted family man.
