Simpson and McMaster Secure 2026 Titles

Several of Jamaica’s top sporting clay shooters gathered at the scenic True Juice property in Bog Walk last Sunday for an exhilarating staging of the ‘2026 Rangers Sporting Clay Championship’.
The event marked a notable milestone for title sponsor Sterling Asset Management, which celebrated five consecutive years of partnership with the Rangers, further advancing its commitment to the development of the sport locally. The championship, which also formed part of Sterling’s broader 25th anniversary celebrations, witnessed a masterful end to the competition, which drew a wide cross-section of 146 participants, all navigating a challenging course set against the natural beauty of the Bog Walk landscape.

From technical shots to fast-paced sequences, the day delivered a compelling test of skill and composure. By the end of 18 shooting stations, Craig Simpson claimed the Overall Male Champion title with 89 points after a steady and confident performance.
“It always feels good to win; we come with the hope that we come out victorious,” he shared noting, it was a challenging course, and I didn’t think I had done enough, especially towards the end. My score of 89 was lower than last year’s, so I honestly didn’t think it would be enough, but I’m grateful it carried me over the line.”

In the Ladies division, Aliana McMaster delivered a commanding performance to secure the top spot and lead the Junior category with 85 points. The other classes also saw strong showings throughout the day.
After a closely fought shoot-off, Christian Sasso emerged victorious in Class A, with Michael Bernard taking the Class B title. Zachary Chung led in Class C, while Luke Chin and Scott Roman secured wins in Class D and Class E, respectively. The Sub-Junior category was won by Liam Samuda, while Toby Hugh captured the Hunter Class title following a competitive finish.

Adding a special celebratory element to this year’s championship was the introduction of the ‘Sterling Asset Management 25th Anniversary Prize’, which included a prize-filled Yeti cooler. The recipient, Adam Vaz, expressed appreciation for the recognition.
Sterling’s Vice President Sales & Marketing, Toni-Ann Neita-Elliott, reflecting on the milestone year, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sport and youth development saying, “reaching 25 years is a proud achievement, but what matters most is continuing to invest in Jamaican talent and create opportunities for growth and excellence.”

The 2026 Rangers Sporting Clay Championship once again showcased the depth of talent within Jamaica’s shooting community, while highlighting the importance of supporting smaller sporting disciplines. Sterling Asset Management is committed to backing niche sports across the island, helping to develop athletes and strengthen communities, ensuring that they continue to grow and flourish for years to come.
