Candace Owens is defending Piers Morgan’s right to criticise Meghan Markle.

Candace Owens, the black American conservative author and activist, has come to the defence of United Kingdom (UK) morning television host Piers Morgan over raging criticism of his stance against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Sharing her thoughts on last Sunday’s Oprah Winfrey interview of Harry and Meghan, Owens also suggested during an appearance on Fox News Wednesday night (March 10) that the Duchess wasn’t black enough to be a victim of racism.

Before publicly ‘dragging’ Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, Owens defended Morgan, who earlier this week resigned from his ITV show Good Morning Britain amid backlash for his opinions on the interview.

Piers Morgan quit his show admit backlash against his criticisms of Meghan Markle.

“Piers Morgan was all of us when he was dressing down Meghan Markle and calling her out on the blatant lies that she’s told,” Owens told television host Sean Hannity during her appearance on Fox News.

Owens continued to expound on her reasoning, discussing some of the revelations from the interview, including Meghan’s mental health issues as a result of public and media-related scrutiny and the mention of ‘royal racism’ towards her first born.

She further questioned the idea that the ‘bad press’ Meghan received was racist, saying: “You would not be able to discern just by looking at Meghan Markle that she’s black.”

Owens continued by describing Markle as a “typical leftist narcissist” who saw something “traditional” (the British royal family) and decided “to call it racist”.

Owens’ continued to nit-pick Oprah’s interview, suggesting that baby Archie, Harry and Meghan’s son, couldn’t be a victim of racism, despite the child being mixed race as well.

“If you’ve seen a picture of Archie and you believe that he has suffered anti-black racism, then I’m a Nigerian prince and give me your credit card details. It’s so ridiculous,” Owens said.

Throughout her discussion with Hannity, Owens threw a number of jabs at Meghan, essentially calling her a ‘liar’.

“She can’t even keep her story straight. If anyone remembers, about three years ago she said in a panel that she does not read newspapers, she does not check social media, because she doesn’t like to read stories about her,” Owens said.

Referring to Morgan, she continued: “In his opinion he believes that Meghan Markle is lying. I agree with him. Why aren’t we allowed to have an opinion anymore?”
