Following days of teasers, American rapper Meghan Thee Stallion is officially back this ‘hot girl summer’, announcing the release of her second studio album, Traumazine.
Traumazine, set to drop tomorrow (August 12), comes two years after the Savage artiste’s debut album, Good News.
Taking to Instagram earlier today (August 11) to share the news, the rapper urged fans to presave her sophomore album.
“MY NEW ALBUM TRAUMAZINE IS OUT FRIDAY 🔥🔥🔥 PRESAVE IT NOW!!! Link in my bio,” she captioned.
In a 19-second trailer, the Texas native is seen in a cemetery filled with mourners, seemingly making her way to pay her respect. From a black ensemble to a white one, the star walks the path to an ominous piano track.
The 18-track album features several heavy-weight collaborators, including Future, Dua Lipa and Jhené Aiko.
On August 4, the artiste uploaded the meaning of ‘Traumazine’.
“The chemical released in the brain when it is forced to deal with painful emotions caused by traumatic events and experiences,” the post read.
Noting Traumazine’s synonym – self-realization, Megan, in a subsequent post explained that, although she does not have it all figured out, fans will be able to understand better her thought process, with the upcoming album.
“It took a lot of self reflecting to get to the point in my life where I am now,” she started,
“I ain’t saying I finally figured everything out or that I am at peace, bc I’m not… buttt im excited for the hotties to get a better understanding of what’s happening in my head #TRAUMAZINE,” she continued.
