Two of the men who pleaded guilty to charges in connection to the murder of Member of Parliament Phillip Paulwell’s daughter and her mother were sentenced on Wednesday morning.

One of the men, whose name is being withheld for security reasons, was sentenced to 30 years each on two counts of murder. He also received one year and 10 months imprisonment at hard labour each of the two counts of kidnapping.

The sentences are to run concurrently.

He is eligible for parole after 20 years.

The second man, whose name is also being withheld, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to kidnap, two counts of accessory before the fact to murder, and misprision of felony. He was sentenced to seven years and 10 months.

In a statement, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) explained that there was no evidence to prove that the second man participated in the kidnapping and murder of the mother and her daughter. He was consequently charged for his actions leading up to the kidnapping and murder.

Leoda Bradshaw, a long-time partner of the MP, is alleged to be the mastermind behind the killing of Toshyna Patterson and her daughter Sarayah Paulwell.

Bradshaw is charged with two counts of conspiracy to murder, two counts of conspiracy to kidnapping, two counts of kidnapping, and two counts of murder.

Reports are that Bradshaw kidnapped Patterson and her 10-month-old child,, had them killed, their bodies burnt, and their remains buried.
