After much consternation, Lionel Messi has finally arrived in Jamaica for the CONCACAF Champions League second leg match between Inter Miami CF and local team Cavalier SC at the National Stadium on Thursday.

Inter Miami won the first encounter 2-0 with Messi on the sidelines after not playing in their last three games.

Messi and his team were greeted by Minister of Sports Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston where he was presented with a Bob Marley T-shirt.

The 37-year-old football superstar is regarded as the greatest player of all time, winning the Ballon d’Or eight times and four Best FIFA men’s player.

His 45 team trophies make him the most decorated player in the history of professional football, including 2 league titles, four UEFA Champions League, two Copa America and one World Cup.
