Celebrities stepped out on the red-carpet for one of the biggest fashion event for year, the Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 6.

The invitation-only event attracted some of the biggest personalities in film, fashion, television, music, sports and others.

This year, the theme for the event was ‘Garden of Time’, which awakened the creativity of several celebrities who graced the red carpet.

The theme was pulled from the latest exhibition of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

Best dressed celebrities

Zendaya

American actress and singer Zendaya was among the favourites who graced the red carpet.

Zendaya was in keeping with the theme, where she was decked out in a one-shouldered royal blue and emerald green gown. The gown was accentuated with embellishments resembling fruits on her upper arm and her waist.

The look was completed with a feather fascinator and her goth makeup.

Demi Lovato

American singer, songwriter, and actress Demi Lovato graced the 2024 Met Gala with beauty and elegance. She wore a custom white strapless flowing gown that was accentuated by silver flowers, which kept well with the theme.

Tyla

South African singer Tyla did not bring the water to the 2024 Met Gala but she definitely brought the sand instead. She wore a strapless dress which was made from sand.

Bad Bunny

For the men, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny was among the best looks that kept well with the theme. He took over the red carpet in a custom look which consisted of a black open stitched suit, leather gloves and an oversized hat.

Jennifer Lopez

Maid in Manhattan actress Jennifer Lopez also took over the red carpet after she wore a nude see-through gown with stone embellishments.

Lana Del Rey

American singer Lana Del Rey wore a nude silk gown that was accentuated by branch looking embellishments. The look was completed with a statement head piece which also had branches.

Niki Minaj

Barbie World singer Nicki Minaj brought the ‘Garden of Time’ to the 2024 Met Gala red carpet after she showed up in a bright yellow baby doll dress that was accentuated by colourful flower embellishments.

Teyana Taylor

American singer Teyana Taylor was also among the best looks at the Met Gala in a crimson-coloured red dress accentuated by flower embellishments.
