The Jamaica Meteorological Service is advising citizens of a localised cold front, which will bring cooler temperatures, cloudy conditions and increased chances for showers today (December 18).

The Met Service, in its 5:00 am Monday forecast, anticipates cooler conditions persisting throughout this week as Jamaica’s dominant weather influence.

“Expect cloudy conditions to persist with periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout today. Additionally, cool and windy conditions are expected across the island and especially northern parishes beginning today, and should last for most of this week,” the weather watchdog indicated.

Morning skies being cloudy island-wide, with isolated showers mainly across northern parishes.
This later gives way to mostly cloudy afternoon conditions with period of showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across sections of central and eastern parishes. It should also become progressively windy across northern parishes.

The respective maximum temperature expected for major cities Kingston and Montego Bay is 30 and 29 degrees Celsius.
