Muhammad Ali estate added to production team so story can be told without any red tape

Production of a new limited movie series on boxing legend, Muhammad Ali will shortly begin with rising black movie star Michael B. Jordan partnering with Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter on the project.
The movie project will be going through Jordan’s production company, Outlier Society TV, and will also involve Amazon Studios.
In an exclusive interview with Deadline, Jordan said “it’s a healthy weight to carry to be able to tell the story of Muhammad Ali”.
Jordan is the star of the boxing franchise, Creed, which is a spin-off of the Sylvester Stallone Rocky franchise. The production team is partnering with Roc Nation, which is home to a diverse roster of critically acclaimed recording artists, writers and producers including Jay-Z, Rihanna, Shakira, J. Cole and others, which will be undertaking the music side of the movie project.

In addition, the production team have also drafted on board the estate of Muhammad Ali, born Cassius Clay, to tell this story without any red tape.
Jordan explained that the film will be “a limited series that will really dive into the life of Muhammad Ali. I’m not going to be too specific beyond that, but we’ll be able to get to know him in ways we haven’t had a chance to before”.
Jordan, who has been associated with the Creed franchise for the past five to six years stated that he is really excited about this project more so as being a boxing enthusiast.

“To be able to honour Muhammad Ali and elaborate on his legacy is something I’m really excited about,” Jordan said, while pointing out that Amazon Studios is also equally excited.
During the interview, Jordan also spoke about his entrepreneurial spirit and his creative mindset.
According to the actor, “my ambition and appetite has grown over the years… . You see a business and a brand like Amazon and my ambition is to grow an ecosystem where one hand washes the other and we help each other out”.
He reported that Amazon has the resources, the like-mindedness, ambition and a need for someone like himself.
