A biopic about pop legend Michael Jackson, titled Michael, is set to be released by Lionsgate, a Canadian entertainment company.

According to a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, the biopic will focus on Michael’s life and career and will be co-produced by Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain, who are the co-executors of Jackson’s estate.

The film will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, an American filmmaker who has worked on films such as Training Day, Brooklyn’s Finest, King Arthur, Olympus Has Fallen and The Magnificent Seven, among others.

An official release date for the biopic has not been announced.

Jackson, who made his public debut in 1964, won 13 Grammy Awards during his music career.

Dubbed the ‘King of Pop’, the singer was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, first as a member of the Jackson Five, along with his siblings, and as a solo artiste.

According to Rolling Stone, Jackson’s top songs include Billie Jean, I Want You Back, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, I’ll Be There and Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground).
