For the last 15 years, the Middle Managers Leadership Conference (MMLC) has been the go-to development tool for managers and business leaders in the Caribbean.

It has nurtured a community that aspires to excellence in leadership, resilience, and learning in a fast-changing business environment. It is a celebration of the journey we all take together as we strive to become remarkable leaders.

A journey of empowerment for an impressive 15 years, the MMLC has been an oasis for aspiring leaders, leaders in training, leaders with an itch to network, managers, entrepreneurs, and executives who are ready to build your toolbox and upskill.

These ‘B’ and ‘C’ suite leaders undergo a two-day experience that distinguishes itself from run-of-the-mill development programs. Here, they come to find the real meaning of leadership — not just in strategy and performance but in strength and resilience and the ability to inspire.

“Over the last fifteen years it has been clear that leadership development goes well beyond the boardroom,” said Dr Jacqueline Coke-Lloyd, managing director of conference organiser Make Your Mark Consultants.

“It’s about individuals being empowered to overcome adversity, to become the best version of themselves, and to serve as a source of inspiration for the people around them to keep growing.”

Thanks to this guiding principle, the MMLC has become an incubator-like space with innovation and growth. We celebrate the essential role of middle managers as architects of tomorrow in their companies. There are also leaders who are the essential bridge between vision and execution, guiding their teams through the complexities of a shifting business terrain.

Through the MMLC and the sharing of best practices and strategies, leaders have been cultivated and conversations have occurred that foster professional success as well as personal wellbeing.

Out of this conference emerged a dynamic network of empowered leaders—champions of change who are determined to create a culture of resilience and adaptability within their organisations. They are emotionally intelligent, great communicators, which involves handling uncertainty gracefully and confidently.

While the MMLC celebrates its illustrious past, it continues to embrace the future. Mirroring this changing business landscape, the new business leader must not only be capable, but also be able to inspire and motivate. This year’s conference will empower middle managers on the tools and resources required to nevertheless thrive during times of change and uncertainty.

Scheduled for April 29 and 30 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel and online, the MMLC boasts a 96 per cent satisfaction rating from past attendees and promises to offers an opportunity to invigorate leaders and empower them to embrace their roles as catalysts for innovation and positive change.
