The seventh staging of the Grace Mighty Malt Victory Cup promises to be the best ever with 84 teams competing for various age group titles, in a two-day football fiesta at the Kingston Polo Club starting on Saturday.

The event is organised by Pro Nation Sports, whose director, Gregory Jones, outlined the holistic approach that will also see three outstanding players who were able to balance academics and football, getting scholarships.

The winning coach will earn a trip to any Beaches Resort for a weekend along with the winning cash prize of $30,000 and a scholarship to pursue the D License Coaching Certificate.

“We are looking to give back to the coaches. So, every year we will be sponsoring a coach. We’ll cover the cost to do the D License because we want coaches to be educated, and if the coaches are educated and doing well, then they’ll pass it down to the players,” said Jones, who is also a coach.

He thanked all the sponsors, reiterating that without them it would not be possible.

Approximately 1,200 boys and girls will participate in what is said to be one of the biggest youth football tournaments in the country.

Meanwhile, Grace Food’s Brand Manager, Beverages, Kristina Hill, said the company’s commitment to the tournament remains strong.

Hill said: “As part of the Grace Foods family, Mighty  Malt continues to invest where it matters most—in Jamaica’s youth, in community and in the power of sport to create change. At Grace Foods and more specifically, Grace Mighty Malt, we are all in. Not just because we love football, but because we believe in what it can do, the discipline, the focus, the opportunities it creates.

“Because the Victory Cup isn’t just about goals and trophies, it’s about purpose, potential and progress,” she noted. We’re proud to continue our partnership with ProNation Sports, an organisation that has been putting in the work for over 15 years and creating space for young players to grow, to shine, and to be seen. We’ve seen the value of this partnership, and we’re proud to keep that momentum going.”
