Minimal loss from last weekend’s fire at Wisynco

Jamaican distribution giant Wisynco is reporting minimal losses from last weekend’s fire at its warehouse in Lakes Pen, St Catherine.

In an advisory posted yesterday (April 5) on the website of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE), Wisynco reported that “the fire resulted in minimal loss to the company. The company has also advised that the fire did not cause any disruptions in service”.

Wisynco is a publicly traded company on the JSE.

The company has advised that ”at approximately 6:30 pm on April 1, a fire broke out in the pallet yard of the Wisynco warehouse located on the company’s primary property at Lakes Pen in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The fire, the cause of which remains unknown, destroyed two trucks and 50 pallets.

Reports are that the blaze began in the pallet repair yard on the compound, resulting in “minor loss of some property”.
