Minister of state in the Ministry of Education and Youth Marsha Smith has resigned as Member of Parliament for the constituency of St Ann North Eastern with immediate effect.
Smith was elected to represent the constituency in the September 2020 General Election.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness in a release expressed thanks to Smith for her service in representational politics.
According to a Jamaica Labour Party source, Senator Mathew Samuda replace Smith as the standard-bearer for the constituency of St Ann North Eastern.
