Accused brought to court yesterday

A man accused of the double murder of two American missionaries seven years ago is now facing trial for the crime.
He is a 34-year-old St. Mary taxi driver, Andre Thomas, who was brought to court yesterday. Thomas is to stand trial for the murder of two missionaries from the United States.
On the morning of April 30, 2016, the missionaries – Randy Hetzel, 48 and Harold Nichols, 53, were seen leaving the community of Tower Isle in the parish. Later that day, Hetzel’s body was found in bushes and the body of Nichols was found the following day.
Hentzel died of a gunshot wound, while Nichols had gunshot and chop wounds.
Hentzel and Nichols had been living in Jamaica since 2002 with their wives.
They worked for a Pennsylvania-based religious group called TEAMS for Medical Missions. Both were found dead in Wentworth district in St Mary on April 30 and May 1.
The two were reportedly last seen alive when they left Tower Isle, St Mary, on motorcycles about 8 a.m. Thomas was jointly charged with Dwight Henry, 32, a farmer, who pleaded guilty to the murder charges, earlier this year.
Henry has been sentenced to life imprisonment, and ordered to serve 28 years, before he is eligible for parole.
